Challenge

Paris Comic Con, the unmissable pop culture convention for fans of comics, science fiction and TV.

Increase the visibility of Paris Comic Con ahead of the event and attract a higher number of attendees.

Action plan

  • Press conference
  • Guerrilla-style PR: teasers and previews for the media
  • Exclusive, free partnership with 20 Minutes: a special edition where 20 Minutes’ journalists were transformed into the big heroes of DC Comics and Marvel, with a fun and creative tone. This was released a week before the convention.
  • Key press targets were invited to the event, and interviews with top stars were arranged.

RESULTS

  • 639 press clippings (advertising value equivalency: €3,500,000)
  • 25 interviews with the convention director (TV, radio and print)
  • 39 TV spots, including on CNEWS and national daily news programs
  • 24 radio features, including on France Inter and BFM
  • A special edition of 20 Minutes, 20 Minutes x Paris Comic-Con, of which 918,200 copies were distributed throughout France on 20 October 2017, alongside an online version that reached almost 6,215,000 unique visitors
  • A peak in sales of convention tickets one week before the event
